Portland Beer Week Starts Today: 8 Not To Miss Events

Portland Beer Week the 11-day (June 8th-18th) event that I have been involved in for seven years and founded by Ezra Johnson-Greenough of the New School Beer Blog officially starts today. My first year of Portland Beer Week I put together a Sushi and Beer Pairing event at Roscoes with my friend Ritch Marvin. The next year I started the rye beer fest. And over the years I have been involved in a number of other events. There are over 100 events going on this year and really something for everyone. Here are 8 must attend events, yes I am involved in a few of these, but I will not lead you astray.

1. Kick Off Party | June 8th from 4-10pm at the Exchange Ballroom and Cascade Rooftop

This year the Portland Beer Week kick-off party features the largest venue and vendors to date. "The indoor/outdoor event features a “beer week marketplace” featuring vendors from BrewedOregon and Mindy’s Beer Gear’s merch tables to 5404 Meats from San Francisco, Salt & Straw Ice Cream, Blue Star Donuts, cheese from the Oregon Cheese Guild, and of course a bunch of breweries like Culmination Brewing with their new “Hop Berry IPA.”
